nbb update

Spent most of the weekend playing around with getting GitLab installed to replace Gogs. Took a surprising amount of work to get it to work with my current setup, but I think I have all the quirks ironed out. Mainly switched because GitLab has some really cool continuous integration features and it might help me out with work-related stuff in the somewhat near future. Other than that, did some work on nbb. Didn't add any features or fix anything, but I did create (steal) a cool icon. Here's what it looks like: https://a.pomf.cat/vliiah.PNG Also did some work on getting auto-updates working for nbb on Windows. tl;dr: if you download nbb from https://files.kuudere.moe/nbb/win64/ with the latest .exe, you should (hopefully) never need to manually update again

Got this after installing. Seems to work fine though.

Yeah, I need to find a way to suppress that. It happens when you try to open two instances at the same time. Maybe I should limit it to one instance?

How would I know if it updated, since I'm still getting the error.

Nevermind. It did, in fact, update. Error message is still there though.

Weird, I can't seem to replicate it after the fix. Opened up 5 instances at the same time, no errors. I should really add a current version number and changelog though, since I'm versioning things now.

Would also be nice if it only downloaded files that actually changed, and not all of the dependencies over again.

Looks like if I wait about five seconds between opening new instances I don't get the error.

Super weird. Does the main screen say you're on version 1.0.4 now?

Yes.

Implemented incremental updates, so upgrading should be much faster. ~20 KB updates instead of ~60 MB. I'll have to come up with some sort of progress bar that shows that an update is in progress though. Releases show up in AppData/Local/nbb/, so I think that's currently the easiest way to see when an update finished. Do you still have the problem with v1.0.6? I haven't been able to reproduce the problem, but I made a tweak that might fix it.

Pushed another update. Maybe 1.0.7 will fix it? Added an error handler that will hopefully pick that up and ignore it.

Neat, the update status notification thing works. If I managed to fix the problem you were having, might not have to mess with the auto-update stuff for a while.

Pushed an update that should make flash videos work. Might have to install flash though. Games and shit don't work very well because image thumbnails get in the way, so that's something I'll need to look into improving. Reworked how images and stuff get placed on the page a bit too, but hopefully shouldn't be anything noticeable. Also added e621 to the booru list for some reason.

Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be left/right, now that the thumbnail list is vertical?

Probably. Not sure if I've finalized the layout, but I'm liking it better than the old one. Also not sure if I even like the whole material design stuff.

Ah, I thought you remade it again. It's alright, I guess. Colored tags would nice I think, maybe a button to make whatever's in the search box open in a new tab (helpful for when you wanna see more from the artist of the picture you're looking at but want to keep the current search). Hotkeys would be hot too.

>>1122 >Colored tags What do you mean by this? >a button to make whatever's in the search box open in a new tab Not a bad idea. >Hotkeys would be hot too. What sort of hotkeys? There are ones for searching and navigating, but they were put in place when the previews were horizontal, so it doesn't seem as intuitive anymore.

Seperate colors for artist, characters, etc. like on every other booru. And I mostly mean a hotkey for downloading. Maybe even skipping the save dialog by setting a standard download path.

Ah, that makes sense. I'll have to check to see if there's a way to classify them. Not sure if a download hotkey would be possible, technically it's just a link with a download attribute right now.[1] [1]: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_a_download.asp

Since the thing it's running on is essentially a browser, wouldn't it be possibly have a setting for downloads to happen in the background?
