Some kind of seedbox maybe? To be honest it's hard to get a grasp on what amount of power is needed for what and what this would be capable of. Before I left America, I got a raspberry pi 0 to connect to the computer which I left the big hdd in so i can access it. It serves its purpose in allowing me to wake up the computer when it's off. A bit complex a setup since the internet there is CGNAT, so no port forwarding, why I need the rpi middleman instead of opening the port on the router. CGNAT and no port forwarding is surprisingly crippling btw, that caused a lot of unexpected headaches. Anyway, I tried to use it as an exit node a couple times but it turned out to be impossibly unbearably slow. Not sure why... if it's the micro sd card of the Pi, or the processor of the Pi itself. Then I was reading your blog and you said the Raspberry pi 4 (which i was looking at before this) did not work great for your NAS... I would expect simple storage shouldn't be so intensive, but it seems there's more opportunity for a bottleneck than I thought. Guess I'll see when it gets here though.

yeah got my framework 12 a few days ago kinda neat, but not really sure i needed a personal laptop main complaint so far is they cheaped out on the screen, not that it's bad but it could've been much better running fedora because it has better tablet support, auto rotate and such

:o hyper V has been silently running a virtual machine in the background since April 21, 2023, I had needed a windows 7 VM for something back then and I guess it never turned off and it starts automatically whenever you start up. It apparently reserved 2GB of memory for itself all this time so I've actually been running off 6GB of RAM instead of 8GB since then... A lot is explained...

i think the last time i tried to use a windows 7 vm was to upgrade my controller drivers and then it turned out that their tool wasn't supported on windows 7, so i had to do a windows 11 vm instead
